There are few things that can “dampen” spirits when there is a wedding afoot. However, when a hurricane gets thrown into the mix, that changes things. Kyle and Lindsey had a simple, beautiful plan. Wedding on the beach at Bald Head Island, reception at the beach house. With weather impending, Kyle’s mom Carol snapped into action! She crafted a new plan that moved the wedding ceremony up to the house and the reception to the Bald Head Association Center. As the week went on and the weather forecast grew more bleak, Carole sprung into action once more. The ceremony was then moved to the beautiful Bald Head Island Chapel and the reception was still to be at the association center. Now with a solid plan, Carol also handled all of the floral arrangements for the event and awaited the arrival of family and friends. Then there was the small matter of the ferry. There was some fear of the winds from the impending HURRICANE exceeding the maximum safe speeds for the ferry to operate. Thankfully, there were no such complications. All guests arrived safely on the island and the event went over like a charm! After their ceremony and introductions, the couple danced their first dance together to “Ocean” by Hannah-McEuen. All those in attendance enjoyed wonderful food provided by The Market and each table w donned with its own cake prepared by Bobby Blackmon. With Annie Liles capturing the festivities, I’m sure that the couple will have excellent images with which to remember their day. I am quite certain that some of those images will showcase the couples vintage theme that included individual antique place settings and tables named with traditional southern terms of endearment including “Dear” , “Honeybunch” and the like. We at DJ Professionals and Video were happy to provide the entertainment for the couple and wish them many years of happiness.

Mr. & Mrs. Luis Baltierrez
The RiverRoom is always a beautiful place to have an event. From the incredible view to the professional staff, you just can’t go wrong. RiverRoom event planner, Melissa Mendoza is a pleasure to work with and extremely detail oriented. Her ability to make things happen in a smooth and timely manner is unparalleled. With flowers provided by Moxie Floral Design Studio and DJ Professionals and Video providing the entertainment, the new Mr. & Mrs. Luis & Linnsey Baltierrez had a true “A-Team”! A family friend provided food for the event and it was fantastic! The couple held their ceremony on the deck outside The RiverRoom and moved inside for their reception. Overlooking the beautiful Cape Fear River, the happy couple and their guests enjoyed a relaxing night of food, fellowship and of course great music. We wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Baltierrez all the best and extend them many thanks for allowing us to be a part of their special day.
Kids night at Figure 8 Yacht Club
Due to the nature of our business, we don’t very often get the opportunity to “play for the kids”. That’s one of the things that make the kids night at the Figure 8 Island Yacht Club so great. Jennifer Mitchell and all of her staff at the club are a ball of fun! The kids get to choose their menu and even have a hand in choosing the DJ that plays for them! I have been fortunate enough to not only be chosen, but also be the only DJ to EVER provide music at these parties! The kids come to the party knowing that the food is something they picked. The music is played by someone that they picked and Jennifer and her staff have some wonderful games and activities for them to enjoy while they are there. We teach different line dances, make up crazy dances, break piƱatas and just have LOADS of fun! Thanks again to the kids and staff of the Figure 8 Island Yacht Club for choosing DJ Professionals & Video and we look forward to each and every one of these parties this summer!
Mr. & Mrs. Toby & Calley Kandies
What a spectacular evening! It began with their ceremony at Hugh McRae park and then the cocktail hour and reception held at the beautiful RiverRoom in historic downtown Wilmington. The weather couldn’t have been better! The view from the RiverRoom is stunning and the weather lent to an even more beautiful setting. The bride and groom along with their bridal party, arrived at the RiverRoom ready for a party. Each couple was announced and danced in to the music of The Black Keys. Dinner was wonderfully prepared by Middle of the Island Catering and upon completion of dinner our bride and groom commenced with the traditional dances. Toasts were heartfelt words from their closest friends and they chose not to grace each others faces with unsightly cake when the cake cutting came around. From there it was a great party for the rest of the night! Thanks again to Mr. & Mrs. Kandies for allowing DJ Professionals & Video to be a part of their beautiful evening!
Mr. & Mrs. DJ Walker
What an easy going and fun couple! It was truly a pleasure to work with both DJ and Coretta from start to finish on their wedding video!
As a Carolina boy, it was very exciting to work with a former UNC football player! In fact, DJ and Coretta bleed Carolina Blue through-and-through…from the garter to the tuxes!
They tied the knot at St. Luke in downtown Wilmington. The reception was held at Beau Rivage. Tina Shropshire was on hand as their photographer. Eric Thompson provided his services as DJ and Master of Ceremonies.
