What a way to start of the New Year!- With a bang!

Two wonderful people-Rick and Gabby tied the proverbeal knot On Saturday at The Officers club in Jacksonville. DJ Professionals provided the ceremony equipment and wireless mics and all the ceremony music. Gabby looked wonderful in a b eautiful ruffled white wedding dress. Major Rick wore his dress blues and if he smiled any bigger he would have hurt himself!

 

DJ “PK”-Patrick Pake- Set things off right way at the reception. After the wedding party was introduced-even they were dancing- , the guests started dancing in the cocktails and dinner times!

So after dinner and special Father daughter dance, and Rick danced with his Sister, They house started rocking! A few old hits were the grooms request at first-Dazz band, BBD, Sister sledge, then the Wooble. Later pitbull, enrique and the Cupid shuffle packed it in. Although- The New Yorkers and Guests fooded the floor for “Living on a Prayer”

What a great night! Great job by Anita and Beth and the staff at the officers club.

DJ Professionals Pinehurst

December proved to be a month of celebration for DJ Professionals & Video of Pinehurst, NC! The weekend of the 9th was jam packed! Friday night started off with Nick the DJ entertaining some of the troops from Fort Bragg for their annual holiday party. With over 200 people in attendance, the evening began with formalities that included their color guard who did an amazing job opening and closing the formal ceremony. Dinner was AMAZING and the lone table set for soldiers who are missing in action and prisoners of war was a fitting tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation as well as those who withstood the horrors of war to afford us the luxuries we generally take for granted. With the formalities out of the way, the Lieutenant Colonel turned the night over to Nick. He assisted by issuing a “Formal Order” to adhere to the direction of the DJ! With that, Nick took the opportunity to get EVERYONE up and dancing! The party was an absolute blast! There was even the opportunity for Nick to give dance instruction to a decorated war hero…..Our ladies and gentlemen in uniform are always a pleasure to entertain.

Marine Corps Ball

We all know that the men and women of the armed forces work hard at not only preparing for any situation that may come their way, but also at settling conflict around the globe. Well, fortunately, its not all work for the men and women of the US Marine Corps. For those of you that are not familiar with Marine Corps traditions, the Marine Corps was “born” in Tunn Tavern in Pennsylvania on November 10th 1775. There is a lot of tradition and history in the Marine Coprs. More so than any other branch of the military. Every year around November 10th, every unit has their birthday ball. All the marines from the unit come together and take time to not only celebrate but to remember the long, illustrious history of their beloved corps. From the P.O.W./M.I.A. table that represents all those who have not been found or have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great country

to the elaborate ceremonies that include some of the most incredible cakes that local bakeries can produce

During the cake cutting ceremony, the first two pieces of cake are given to the youngest and oldest marines present. This symbolizes the passing of these traditions from one generation to the next.

There is also a point at which there is an inspirational message from the Commandant of the Marine Corps as well as the Sgt.Maj. of the Marine Corps outlining some of the history of the Marine Corps along with some of the most recent accomplishments. This is especially important considering this message is directly from the highest ranking officer and the highest ranking enlisted marine in the corps.

Now I don’t want you to think that it is all “Ceremony and Tradition”. Ultimately, the folks of our armed forces come to have a good time! And just so you know, they play just as hard as they work! The DJ cranks it up and plays all of their favorite tunes while they partake of various “spirits” and dance the night away!

Sometimes it’s just good to know that our men and women in uniform get the opportunity to mix it up and have a good time. After all, they spend the rest of their time defending our right to do whatever we want, whenever we feel the need to do it. Hats off to everyone in all of our armed forces for keeping us safe and doing so at the expense of themselves and their families.
