Mr. & Mrs. Kyle & Lindsay Scarola

There are few things that can “dampen” spirits when there is a wedding afoot. However, when a hurricane gets thrown into the mix, that changes things. Kyle and Lindsey had a simple, beautiful plan. Wedding on the beach at Bald Head Island, reception at the beach house. With weather impending, Kyle’s mom Carol snapped into action! She crafted a new plan that moved the wedding ceremony up to the house and the reception to the Bald Head Association Center. As the week went on and the weather forecast grew more bleak, Carole sprung into action once more. The ceremony was then moved to the beautiful Bald Head Island Chapel and the reception was still to be at the association center. Now with a solid plan, Carol also handled all of the floral arrangements for the event and awaited the arrival of family and friends. Then there was the small matter of the ferry. There was some fear of the winds from the impending HURRICANE exceeding the maximum safe speeds for the ferry to operate. Thankfully, there were no such complications. All guests arrived safely on the island and the event went over like a charm! After their ceremony and introductions, the couple danced their first dance together to “Ocean” by Hannah-McEuen. All those in attendance enjoyed wonderful food provided by The Market and each table w donned with its own cake prepared by Bobby Blackmon. With Annie Liles capturing the festivities, I’m sure that the couple will have excellent images with which to remember their day. I am quite certain that some of those images will showcase the couples vintage theme that included individual antique place settings and tables named with traditional southern terms of endearment including “Dear” , “Honeybunch” and the like. We at DJ Professionals and Video were happy to provide the entertainment for the couple and wish them many years of happiness.

Gracie and Aaron Cote

We the DJs here at DJ Professionals & Video enjoy our job. Wedding receptions are supposed to be a lot of fun and part of our job is to make sure they stay that way. When Gracie and Aaron Cote got married, we had a fun day at the office.

Over 150 guests arrived at the Country Club of Landfall where they were greeted with a picturesque venue and amazing décor. Jessica Gibbs and her thoroughly talented team of wedding coordinators from A Shindig Southern Event Planning put together a beautiful and well planned reception.

We kept the dance floor full most of the night, which just happens to be exactly how we like to keep our dance floors. The guests appeared to be having a great time and even more importantly Gracie and Aaron were having fun.

On behalf of everyone here at DJ Professionals & Video I want to thank Aaron and Gracie for letting us bring the fun on their amazing day and we wish them a lifetime filled with it.

Mr. & Mrs. Jay & Rose Forino

Jay and Rose were a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. From music choices to event schedule, Rose had a specific vision in mind for her wedding day. Their reception was held at the RiverRoom in beautiful historic downtown Wilmington and what a beautiful choice df decode Rose made. Black linens, light colored flowers, subtle lighting all worked together to make the room really sparkle! After introductions, food was served by Bon Apetit and what fantastic food it was! Post dinner, Jay’s best man and Rose’s maid of honor both gave heartfelt toasts and the couple had their first dance together to “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz followed by parental dances. Once the party began, the bride and groom along with their family and friends hit the dance floor and danced the night away! We later returned to the last of the formalities in cutting the cake and guests were treated to a Viannese hour. For those of you that aren’t aware of what that is, it is a SECOND buffet of only desserts. Not just any desserts, but spectacular desserts like a flourless chocolate tart with a raspberry ganache. Decadent cheesecakes, wonderful fresh fruit. It was amazing! We would like to extend our greatest gratitude to Rosé and Jay for including us here at DJ Professionals and Video in their special day and we wish them the best in their new life together.

Mr and Mrs. Cunnane

Simplicity was the key with this couple. An intimate gathering of close friends and family in an elegant setting with a good dance party to follow. Between the talents of Brandy Donnelly and her staff at The Clubs at St. James Plantation Founders Club and the entertainment provided by DJ Professionals and Video, Eric von Bargen Photography was able to capture images that portrayed exactly that! After the wedding ceremony that took place at the St. James Chapel, the couple arrived at the St. James Plantation Founders Club and decided to forgo introductions so that they could begin to socialize with their friends and family. With the blessing complete and a few sincere words of thanks and encouragement from the father of the bride, the couple and their guests we served an amazing meal prepared by the culinary artists of St. James. Following dinner, the newlyweds cut the cake, also prepared on site, and danced their first dance to “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz. Open dancing proved to be the time for all of their guests to shine! From beginning to end, the new Mr and Mrs. Cunnane enjoyed every facet of their evening, we are thankful and proud to have been a part of such a lovely occasion.

Chris and Brenda Kozik

Newlyweds Chris and Brenda Kozik are possibly the nicest people you could have the pleasure of DJ’ing for. The reception was at Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach and the night began with the Bride and Groom’s first dance, set to Walter Egan’s Magnet and Steel. The guests then enjoyed a terrific meal provided by Bluewater’s kitchen and enjoyed the table arrangements provided by Beautiful Flowers by June. After dinner the newlyweds cut a delicious cake prepared by Apple Annie’s Bake Shop. The guests came from as far away as New Jersey and as close as North Carolina, which made for a great mix of music taste that kept people on the dance floor. It was such a fun night with great people; On behalf of everyone here at DJ Professionals & Video I wish the best to Chris and Brenda for many years to come.

Mr. & Mrs. Byron Batson

Having been the DJ for over 425 different weddings, it is such a pleasure to see a new spin on the “Classic Wedding”. Knowing I would be at the ever beautiful River Landing in Wallace, NC was the beginning of a great night, but later finding out that this would be a baseball themed wedding turned out to be quite a treat! The bride and groom truly thought of everything! From standing on home plate to exchange their vows and exiting their ceremony under crossed baseball bats, to the baseball themed cake and baseball jersey that doubled as their guest book! There were several small touches through the night that were in keeping with the theme. For example, the bride and groom chose to have the classic “Who’s On First” by Abbott and Costello played while guests were making their way through the buffet. Anyone who has ever been to see a baseball game knows that at some point during the course of the night, Abbott and Costello will make an appearance. The groom provided the centerpieces which each housed a baseball as a reminder of the theme the bride and groom selected. The groom also designed and arranged all of the bouquets for the bridesmaids as well as the decor behind the bride and groom’s table. In keeping with the baseball motif the bride and groom provided small bottled coca-cola and peanuts as well as cotton candy and Cracker Jacks as gifts to their guests. The entire bridal party was introduced as “The Starting Line-up” and each couple had a batting position. Once introduced the couple danced to “The Earth, The Sun, The Rain” by Color Me Badd. Family and guests all had a stellar evening enjoying fine food, wonderful entertainment and great fellowship. We at DJ Professionals and Video would like to extend a very warm “Thank You” to the new Mr. & Mrs. Batson for allowing us to be a part of their special day.

Mr. & Mrs. Nate & Megan Becker

The RiverRoom is one of our favorite places to work, but it’s made even better when you have other awesome vendors and an amazing couple to work with! Nate and Megan held their ceremony at Carolina Beach and provided their guests a charter bus to whisk them to the reception immediately following at The RiverRoom. The couple broke from tradition choosing to skip to the sweets immediately and cut the cake by Kathy Canby. Following the cutting of the cake the newlyweds were addressed by their best man and maid of honor with heartfelt words for toasts. The couple and their guests were then treated to the culinary prowess of Laura Garst and the folks at Bon Appetit Catering. The food was simply perfect. With dessert and now dinner complete Nate and Megan selected to end their meal with their first dace as husband and wife. The special dances were accented by the bride dancing with her grandfather to “Love You To The Moon and Back” by Dolly Parton. The bride and her father then danced to a special mix of songs that included “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, “Apache” (Jump On It) by Sugar Hill Gang, and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns and Roses. What a fun time they had as their guests cheered them on.

The rest of the night went flawlessly and the bride stayed on the dance floor for the remainder of the night dancing and singing with her new husband and their guests. Everyone here at DJ Professionals and Video would like to thank the bride and groom for having us provide the entertainment for their special day and wish them many years of happiness in their new life together.
